Japan, World Champion: Ayako Rokkaku MVP

Japan won their second consecutive IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup with a convincing 13-3 win against Australia.

Japan won their second consecutive IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup with a convincing 13-3 win against Australia. Japan jumped out to a 9 run lead in the bottom of the first and tallied 11 hits on the day.  Defensively Japan restricted  Australia's offense with solid pitching performances from starter Yukari Isozaki and reliever Ayami Sato. Shimura, Rokkaku, and Takashima each had 2 hits, while leadoff hitter Nakano drew 3 walks. Gaynor and Rawlings each had two hits for Australia. This is the first medal for Australia in the event, having collected 4th place in all previous events.

In the Bronze medal game, Team USA defeated Venezuela 15-5 in 6 innings.

The All Tournament Team was also named along with category leaders and MVP.
