Sport Accord 2011 started in London

IBAF opens booth at Convention, gets accepted by ARISF and meets with ISF

Sport Accord 2011 commenced today in London, United Kingdom with President Riccardo Fraccari, 3rd Vice President Antonio Castro and Executive Director Roberto Fabbricini present for the IBAF.

The day started with the General Assembly of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), which also saw the IBAF officially accepted as a member.

IBAF and ISF also met to discuss how to proceed with the joint bid for inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games, with ISF President Don Porter joining President Fraccari, Mr. Castro and Mr. Fabbricini for the discussions, which will continue on Wednesday. This is the first meeting since the announcement concerning the IBAF and ISF's intent to investigate collaborating together.

The IBAF booth was well received with many notable visitors including Masato Mizuno of the Mizuno Corporation attending for a meet and greet.
