Kao Chih-Kang of Chinese Taipei was named Asia's Player Representative for the IBAF Olympic Reinstatement Campaign.
Kao is currently the starting catcher for the Uni-President Lions in the CPBL and has represented his country in major international competitions.

Kao received the official IBAF certification from IBAF Executive Committee member Tom Peng.
"My task will focus on the Olympic campaign" said Kao "We shall make plans to better develop the game at the grassroot level. It's essential to rally all players behind the drive to get baseball back in the Olympics."

In the past Curtis Granderson of the New York Yankees has supported the campaign for Olympic reinstatement. Former superstar Mike Piazza, now a coach with Team Italy, showed interest in supporting the campaign.

Regarding Olympic Reinstatement, IBAF President Riccardo Fraccari had said in a keynote address, "The success of this campaign will need the support of the entire baseball community, especially the strong collaboration of the National Federations.  All of our efforts must be well-coordinated to maximize and amplify our message that our sport encourages Olympism and that our values are in line with the Olympic movement".
