(a) Pakistan, the runners-up of the Asian Cup, is not qualified to participate in the forthcoming Asian Championship in Japan because Thailand, who was the third in the Asian Cup, has been already qualified. 

 

 (b) Indonesia, the winner of the Asian Cup, Philippines, Thailand and Japan will play at the Narita Round of the Asian Championship, and the winner of the Narita Round will join Korea, Chinese Taipei and China at the Sapporo Round.  Indonesia's next Stop is Narita which could extend to Sapporo if they becomes the winner.
